2022 Ford Super Duty in Johnstown, NY
When you're in the market for a pickup truck that can handle heavy loads and rough terrain, consider a vehicle from Ford's Super Duty line. You can choose from three models, each of which comes in its own range of trim levels.
Trim Levels
The 2022 Ford Super Duty line of pickup trucks consists of the F-250, F-350, and F-450 models. These trucks share some similarities, including exterior equipment and trim levels; the difference is in sizes and capabilities. Each model offers six trim levels: XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited. Each model is further customizable with a regular cab, extended cab (SuperCab), and crew cab, plus a 6.8- or 8.2-foot bed.
Exterior features on the base model include black accents, manual-folding side mirrors, 17-inch steel wheels, front tow hooks, and solar-tinted glass. The XLT adds chrome accents, 18-inch alloy wheels, and heated side mirrors. Options on the higher trims include LED headlights, larger wheels, a power-sliding rear window, power-folding tow mirrors, LED in-bed lighting, and a moon roof.
Engine
All three Super Duty truck models come with three engine options. The first option is a 6.2-liter flex-fuel V-8 engine that produces 385 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. It works with a six-speed automatic transmission. Next is a 7.3-liter gas V-8 engine that produces 430 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque. The most powerful of the bunch is the 6.7-liter turbo-diesel V-8 that pumps out 475 horsepower and 1,050 pound-feet of torque. The F-250 truck pairs the upper two engines with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The F-350 and F-450 models include the 10-speed automatic transmission as standard with all three engines.
Performance
For hauling and towing, few trucks can compare with the 2022 Ford Super Duty line. When properly equipped with the available towing package, rear-wheel drive, and the diesel engine, the maximum towing capacity comes in at 24,200 pounds. With a gooseneck hitch, you can tow up to 37,000 pounds. You can also carry up to 6,288 pounds of payload or 7,850 pounds with the heavy-duty payload package. Ford also offers its four-wheel-drive system as an optional upgrade, which is worthwhile if you plan to take your truck off-roading. You can get several off-roading packages with features like all-terrain tires, an increased ride height, skid plates, and a locking rear differential.
Interior
Climb into the cabin of the base trim to find vinyl upholstery and floor coverings, manual climate control, and a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel. Standard tech features include a four-speaker audio system with a USB port, a 4.2-inch central display screen, and FordPass Connect with a Wi-Fi hot spot. With the higher trims, you can get upgraded features like Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone integration, an 8-inch touch screen, and Ford's SYNC 4 infotainment system. Optional comfort features include dual-zone automatic climate control, wood interior trim, leather or cloth upholstery, and heated front seats.
Safety Features
All models in the Super Duty line include anti-lock brakes, air bags throughout the cabin, stability and traction control, and a rearview camera. Available options include automatic braking, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control.
